Clothing

Free clothing sources may have needs based requirements.
  1. Basic Needs Ministry, Location: At I-40 Exit 312 on N.C. Route 42 (5533 N.C. HWY 42 W), enter driveway between Bojangle's and Peddler's Village and go to rear Warehouse unit D-96; Mailing address: 1413 Kenbrook Drive, Garner, NC 27529-4447; 919-661-6565 - charity and fundraising sales, redeems gift certificates from nearly 300 organizations (food pantries, churches, schools, agencies, and various community organizations to residents of service area: Garner and Fuquay-Varina through Johnston County and Angier); Mondays 6-9 p.m. and Saturdays 9-6.   2. Coats For The Children Annual Campaign - WRAL-TV is helping provide coats to Salvation Army families in need. Clothing is being solicited in Apex, Cary, Chapel Hill, Clayton, Durham, Fayetteville, Fuquay-Varina, Garner, Goldsboro, Morrisville, Oxford, Pittsboro, Raleigh, Rocky Mount, Sanford, Siler City, Spring Lake, Wilson and Wake Forest. WRAL asks the public to donate coats, gloves, hats, new underwear, T-shirts, and socks.
Angier

Requirements are a Social Security Card for each member of the family needing clothes, and a North Carolina ID, or Prison ID of the person shopping at the clothing closet. Each family member may receive up to 8 items of clothing per visit. Shelter residents and homeless individuals may attend monthly, all others may come once every three months.

  1. Cinderella Project provides free prom dresses to Wake County students at Cary Towne Center. Meredith College's Fashion Association coordinates. Donations go to Meredith and requests go to your high school counselor.

  2. Kiwanis Club of Raleigh provided 12,000 pairs of shoes to Wake County's foster children in the past 30 years.
